Dorothy Beyer

Collaborative Pianist

Dorothy is a versatile musician who loves collaborating with others in many different styles. Equally at home on the piano, the recorder, and the baroque flute, she is a frequent performer in concert series in Edmonton as well as solo engagements with choirs and duo work with the Health Arts Society of Alberta.

She has performed extensively in Sweden, Poland, and the Czech Republic. She was also delighted to be able to play recorder in the 2021 thriller feature film, The Family, for composer Dillon Baldassero, a film which is now being screened at film festivals in South Korea and Canada.

Excited to pass on her knowledge, Dorothy is an enthusiastic teacher of piano and recorder. While maintaining a private studio, she also teaches with the Edmonton Suzuki Flute and Recorder Society and is also the pianist for the Edmonton German Men's Choir. Dorothy also loves experimenting with recipes and gardening and has recently become a German-to-English translator for the German music publisher, Heinrichshofen.
